Two tech firms with deep involvement with the nonprofit sector have broadened their involvement with the nation’s largest association of fundraisers to develop sector research and technology adoption.

DonorPerfect in Fort Washington, Pa., is working with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) on the In Support of Women’s Impact Initiative (WII), a comprehensive AFP campaign to assess, address and highlight the specific issues and challenges faced by women in the fundraising profession. WII has conducted the first comprehensive study of harassment in fundraising and released research on the gender salary gap in the profession. WII is also creating resources to address these and other issues, including unconscious bias and male allyship, to achieve full gender equity in the fundraising profession.

“DonorPerfect has been an exceptional partner to AFP’s Women’s Impact Initiative from the release of the March 2018 Nonprofit Leadership Workbook for Women to the newly released #TimesUp for Sexual Harassment in Fundraising Workbook,” said Tycely Williams, CFRE, chair of WII. “These educational resources offered at no cost enable us to share best and promising practices that help individual fundraisers while creating inclusive cultures that actualize a commitment to diversity, equity and access.”

Meanwhile, Salesforce.org in San Francisco, Calif., has entered into a deal with AFP to provide education and training for ethical standards in the profession. “Technology can play such a critical role in helping nonprofits deliver transformative programs and services to the community, but by the same token, not utilizing technology effectively can hamper a charity’s impact,” said Mike Geiger, MBA, CPA, president and CEO of AFP.

In its recent Social Impact Report 2018, Salesforce.org shared its progress on the path to impact. By providing the resources needed to make outcomes-focused decisions, the company is committed to helping empower its clients, its grantees, and its citizen philanthropists to advance even greater social impact.
