Big Boost For CFC Fundraising

The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) continues to run about 17 percent ahead of last year’s pace. The 2016 campaign has reached $17.6 million in pledges through Nov. 22, more than one-third of the way toward its goal of $47 million.

The annual workplace giving opportunity for federal employees eclipsed $14 million in pledges last week, still about 17 percent of last year, according to CFCNCA. Vince Micone, chairman of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee that oversees CFCNCA, said in a press release that the campaign is on track to meet or exceed its goal of $47 million this year.

This year’s campaign incorporates the theme, “Show Some Love,” and is highlighted in four promotional days that engage donors through social media and encourage employees and the public to share their support using the hashtag, #ShowSomeLoveCFC.

Federal employees are encouraged to donate to the cases they care about, whether that’s disaster relief, veterans, education, medical research, animal welfare, or others. To donate to the campaign, federal employees can visit www.cfcnca.org

There are 125 local Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) regional areas in addition to nationally eligible campaigns. CFCNCA is the largest CFC, a 55-year federal workplace giving tradition that has raised more than $8 billion for charities. The annual CFC campaign runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 15.
