Registry Teaming With Fundraising Experts

Organizations registering .ngo and .ong domains are now eligible for OnGood profile pages and GlobalGiving and Network for Good widgets at no cost. The offering comes following a partnership created between crowd-funding community GlobalGiving, software company Network for Good, both of Washington, D.C., and the Public Interest Registry in Reston, Va.

Public Interest Registry is the nonprofit operator of .org, .ngo and .ong domains. The profiles connect organizations to an OnGood online community in which to raise awareness, funding and support while displayed widgets are capable of quickly linking to partner services to facilitate donations, according to a release.

“By partnering with organizations like GlobalGiving and Network for Good, we strengthen our alliance of organizations dedicated to serving the public interest, while providing thousands of NGOs access to tools that enable them to collect funds and more effectively tell their stories to the nonprofit community,” said Public Interest Registry CEO Brian Cute.

GlobalGiving and Network for Good join ammado, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, as OnGood donation partners. A combined 1.7 million organizations currently utilize at least one of the three platforms. Giving widgets will be displayed on OnGood profile pages. Each organization’s widgets are compatible with international currencies, languages and payment tools.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with Public Interest Registry to give validated nonprofits easier access to the information, tools and donors they need to be effective and make our world a better place,” said John Hecklinger GlobalGiving’s chief program officer. “This partnership extends our reach, allowing us to more easily identify organizations that are poised to solve societal problems and help them increase their impact.”
