Workforce Services, Executive Recruiting Expanded Via Partnership

The nonprofit job market is getting more competitive as organizations recover from the recession and start expanding staff. NonProfit Talent Match has made the jump from a leading industry job board to full service talent sourcing and management.
The initiative is an outgrowth of NPT Jobs, a jobs board ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the top websites for nonprofit jobs. The a-la-carte services allow organizations to search for candidates using tools ranging from the nonprofit job board to executive search, candidate certification, temp-to-direct hire, career coaching, payroll and outplacement services.
The additional services are a result of a new partnership with Ability Professional Network. The collaboration with NonProfit Talent Match deepens Ability’s nonprofit outreach and grows staffing services for Talent Match.
“NonProfit Talent Match and Ability Professional are passionate about helping people find jobs that not only pay the bills but are personally rewarding,” said Ken Lazar, principal of Ability Professional. “When John McIlquham, CEO of The NonProfit Times, approached me with the idea, I knew instantly this was a game-changer,” he said.
Salaries and benefits are improving in the nonprofit sector as reported by The NonProfit Times in its 2015 Salary and Benefits Report. Talent is getting harder to acquire as the economy strengthens and labor demand tightens. Manpower Group’s 2015 Talent Shortage Survey reported that 38 percent of employers are having difficulty filling jobs. Nonprofit organizations are no exception as managers struggle to find, develop and retain skilled talent.
No matter how great the organization, if another organization offers more fulfillment on the job and in the pocketbook, critical staff will jump. It’s a balancing act to juggle nonprofit budgets, competitive executive salaries and career mobility for the most experienced HR professional. Given that many nonprofit organizations do not have dedicated HR specialists, the challenge is made even more difficult, said Lazar.
Tony Verdon, chief operating officer of of NonProfit Talent Match agreed. “Career management is a significant challenge for nonprofits. We can not only help organizations find talent, but help keep valuable people on the job. Jim Collins, author of Good to Great wrote, ‘If you have the right executives on the bus, they will do everything within their power to build a great company, not because of what they will get for it, but because they simply cannot imagine settling for anything less.’ We intend to help our nonprofit clients align their recruitment strategy with their organizational growth strategy, and to put the right people on the bus.”
The relationship with Ability Professional Network will allow for evolution of the brand, said Verdon. “There will be updates soon regarding brand and online presence as we expand our suite of services in the very near future,” he said.
