New Jersey Nonprofit Center Seeks Input
New Jersey’s Center for Non-Profits is asking partners to complete a survey in advance of a hearing by the state’s Red Tape Review Commission.
The North Brunswick, N.J.-based center is requesting any organizations that receive grants or contract funds from the state — directly or as pass-through dollars — to complete the survey by July 9.
Survey results will be used to update the center’s recommendations for upcoming hearings of the Red Tape Review Commission, as well as used in “broader efforts to improve government grant and contracting.” The state’s Red Tape Review Commission, created by executive order in September 2010, is scheduled to hold a meeting July 17 at The College of New Jersey library from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
At last summer’s commission hearing, the center testified about, among other things, a state Division of Consumer Affairs pre-proposal that would have imposed donor designation requirements on many charities, better communication among government agencies and increased input from nonprofits and providers in developing policies, and myriad problems with contracting.
