Colleges, Universities Recognized With Circle of Excellence Awards

Almost 300 awards were bestowed upon some of the best work by colleges and universities in the areas of marketing, fundraising and more last year. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) last month announced the winners of its 2013 Circle of Excellence awards and winners are now available on its website.

The international competition honors outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing at colleges, universities, independent schools and nonprofits. The competition received more than 2,900 entries for consideration in 45 categories. More than 600 member institutions and nonprofits from 18 countries participated in this year’s awards program.

Peer professionals at schools, colleges and universities as well as professionals in the field of advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing judged the entries. A total 281 awards were given out, ranging from bronze, silver and gold, and 19 institutions received the top prize of a grand gold award. The complete list of 2013 award winners is available on the CASE website.

For the first time, CASE recognized winners in new categories covering community college magazines, mobile applications, targeted campaigns, communications program improvement, advocacy campaigns and professional and staff development programs.

Made up of several of CASE’s long-time recognition programs, the Circle of Excellence awards program, in its present configuration, was introduced in 1994.
