An active shooter situation at a California nonprofit that serves people with developmental disabilities has resulted in multiple casualties and confirmed fatalities. Authorities are looking for one or more gunmen that opened fire at Inland Regional Center (IRC) Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities were looking for one to three suspects after the shooting at the IRC in San Bernardino, Calif., about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. A conference center is among three buildings on the IRC’s campus and was being rented for a function by the county health department, an employee told CNN. At least 14 people have been confirmed dead, according to MSNBC. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed on Twitter that one to three individuals are being sought in relation to the shooting.

IRC services San Bernardino and Riverside counties, according to the center’s Facebook page. Its 670 staff members help more than 30,000 individuals each year. Operated by the state, the center offers programming for groups up to 3 years old; 3 to 15; 16 to 22; 23 to 59; and adults older than 60.

As of 5:15 p.m. ET, the IRC website was down and no updates were posted on its Twitter page.
