As long-time donors age and new donors start to come of age, the digital world is becoming more comfortable with just about all facets of life. Fundraisers are going to have to become more comfortable with the digital age. Luddites need not apply for funds.

During the 2015 National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC) Conference and Exposition, representatives of MobileCause said that nonprofits can get as much as 38 percent more donations with mobile response forms. The speakers emphasized fundraisers’ taking the necessary steps to make it easy for people to give on a PC, tablet or smartphone in response to all fundraising campaigns.

They also offered the following keys and tips:

Logos, colors and photos should reinforce the intention of the gift. It is important to include only fields that are essential for donor cultivation.

Forms should be PCI compliant, and donor data should integrate with the organization’s CRM.

Embed on the organization’s website.

Embed on Facebook.

Have a direct link to emails.

Have a direct link to posts.

Have a direct link to texts.

Promote keywords or shortlinks for in-person appeals.

Promote keywords and shortlinks as a credit card giving option in direct mail.

Have automated tax receipts.
