Leadership Program Seeks Financial Professionals
October 29, 2018 NPT Staff
Financial management professionals who want to make the transition to the nonprofit sector have until Friday to file an application for LeaderLink, a partnership between Robin Hood and Koya Leadership Partners.
LeaderLink was created in 2015 through a partnership between Robin Hood, the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York City, and Commongood Careers, now Koya, a national executive search firm, to encourage private-sector financiers to join nonprofits.
The program offers New York City finance professionals training, support, and networking opportunities with New York City area nonprofits.
Interviews will be scheduled from Nov. 5 through Dec. 14. Strong candidates will be invited by Nov. 5 to interview. All finalists will be notified by Dec. 14 that they have been invited to participate in the program.
Individuals who wish to participate in the LeaderLink program are chosen during a highly selective process that includes preparation and networking, job search support, mentoring, and ongoing support once the individuals have transitioned into their new jobs.
The 12-week program is recruiting professionals to join the third cohort that will run from January through March 2019, with ongoing support programs in place through November. The program typically takes place every other Friday morning. A full program schedule can be found at https://koyapartners.com/services/leaderlink-information
Participants are asked to pay a $1,500 program participation fee to offset the cost of delivering the program. Exceptions can be made for participants if the fee represents a barrier.
Individuals who qualify for the program must have all or most of the following experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in private sector finance;
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills;
- Demonstrated interest in working for a nonprofit;
- Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills;
- A commitment to the time and investment necessary to participate;
- Awareness of the compensation ranges of nonprofits; and,
- A commitment to continue in a career with a nonprofit for at least 10 years.
