Best Buy Foundation Grants

The Best Buy Foundation is seeking proposals for its annual grant program. Specifically, the Foundation is looking to fund nonprofits that work to build skill proficiency in technology through out-of-school programs. If selected for the grant (which is worth up to $200,000), the nonprofit will have the following responsibilities:

Grief Reach Program

The New York Life Foundation (NYLF) and the National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC) are now accepting applications for its Grief Reach Program. Thirty-three grants totaling $1.2 million will be awarded to help bereavement organizations expand the reach of their programs to include underserved youth populations (18 years and younger). Starting with the program’s inception in 2011, 63 grants totaling $2.25 million have been awarded to organizations across the United States.

Lincoln’s Legacy Awards

Lincoln Financial Group is seeking applications for its Lincoln’s Legacy Awards. To honor the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th amendment, the company will award $50,000 to one organization that best advances President Lincoln’s legacy of freedom and opportunity through education.

Data for Life Prize

Children’s Prize is seeking applications for its Data for Life Prize, which will award $50,000 to two organizations that can help identify the best approaches for reducing child mortality by supporting accurate, scientific evaluation of the number of lives that they save. Winners will be announced in December 2014 and all entries will be reviewed by a team of experts from organizations such as Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Miami Department of Pediatrics.

Rising Star Awards

Sun Life Financial Inc., is seeking applications for its Rising Star Awards. Twelve winning organizations will receive a $50,000 grant to promote the academic achievement of under-served youth. In addition, each of these organizations will nominate an exemplary student to receive a $5,000 Sun Life Rising Star scholarship towards financing a college education.

CPF Eco Tech Grants

The Captain Planet Foundation (CPF), in partnership with the Ray C. Anderson Foundation, is seeking applications for its CPF Eco Tech Grants program. Sixteen $2,500 grants will be awarded to schools or non-profits for engaging children in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) projects that use innovation, nature-based design, or technology to address environmental problems in their communities.

The United Way of Westchester and Putnam is seeking letters of inquiry from organizations that work in the areas of education, employment, health, human services, and youth. Based on the results of a survey of 2,600 nonprofits, UW of Westchester and Putnam will accept letters of inquiry in these areas based on the following initiatives:
