Sun Life Financial Inc., is seeking applications for its Rising Star Awards. Twelve winning organizations will receive a $50,000 grant to promote the academic achievement of under-served youth. In addition, each of these organizations will nominate an exemplary student to receive a $5,000 Sun Life Rising Star scholarship towards financing a college education.Agency(s):

Eligible applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization that operates in or within 40 miles of one of the following cities/regions:
- San Francisco
- Tulsa or Oklahoma City
- South Florida (includes Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Broward, Lee, Hendry, Collier, and Monroe counties).
Applying organizations should work to directly benefit secondary school youth, ages 21 and younger, in the area of education engagement and matriculation rates. In addition, they should be aligned with or partner with secondary or post-secondary educational institutions, demonstrate fiscal stability, and have at least a three-year track record of success.
