The Kresge Foundation is seeking to fund organizations that are focused on improving the health of low-income and vulnerable populations. To that end, the Foundation’s Healthy Environments program funds projects in the following areas:
- Healthy Homes: Support efforts to abate hazards, accelerate policy and systems changes, provide community education and build community engagement.
- Transportation and the Built Environment: Supports efforts to re-examine aspects of the built environment that create barriers to physical activity and affect air and water quality and public safety.
- Healthy Food: Supports efforts to improve food-system policies and practices, especially those that provide better access to fruits, vegetables and other healthful foods and that reduce the emphasis on products without nutritional benefits.
