The Charles and Ruth Billingsley Foundation awards grants to nonprofits for a variety of charitable causes. Specifically, the Foundation is interested in funding projects in the fields of arts and culture, education, environment, and health. Around 25 to 30 grants are awarded per year, with an average grant size between $2,500 and $15,000.
To be eligible, organizations must qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. There are no geographic restrictions; however, the trust has a practice of primarily supporting organizations located in San Diego County, California, so that area is given highest priority.
